Hoofddorp
Hoofddorp, the geographical, administrative and cultural centre of the Haarlemmermeer area. It is a stone's throw away from Amsterdam and Netherlands main airport, Schiphol. Hoofddorp is easily accessible from the four national highways: the A4, A44, A9 and A5.
The Haarlemmermeer is a typical rural growth community where many family households reside. This community has about 140,000 inhabitants and is, with 18,500 hectares, one of the twenty largest municipalities in the Netherlands. This city has a good infrastructure with excellent connections for public transport due to the large groups of commuters living here.
Hoofddorp was founded in 1853, is a relatively young city with modern accommodations and has few historical sites. Each year the city hosts a number of events like Mystery Land (dance festival), More Jazz (jazz festival) and the Haarlemmermeer Culinary.
